The Fleurier Quality certification, co-created by Michel Parmigiani, assesses the watch as a whole. To obtain the certification, the timepiece must meet five criteria: First of all, it must be entirely manufactured in Switzerland. Next, each component must feature high-quality craftsmanship. Third, the movement must meet the criteria of the COSC with a stricter tolerance before being cased up in the watch head, and must then undergo the demanding Chronofiable test, during which it is subjected to impacts and moisture. Finally, the watch head must endure 24 hours of wear, as simulated by the Fleuritest.

The Kalpa collection’s iconic case showcases a new colour: red gold. The tonneau-shaped case nevertheless continues to be polished by hand by the manufacture’s expert artisans. The parabola shape of the case middle is the result of Michel Parmigiani’s quest for harmony. It seamlessly embraces the wrist, blurring the boundary between the watch and its wearer.

The deep opaline black dial presents a captivating contrast against the brilliant sheen of the rose gold delta hands with luminescent coating. The semi-instantaneous date window sits at 12 o’clock. Gilded indices are applied to the flange, which features a hand-worked guilloché “braid-effect” motif. The play of light between the deep black and delicate touches of gold demonstrates the precision involved in the creative process.
