Some watches never leave the URWERK workshop. Neither lost nor rejected, they are preserved as pure expressions of the brand’s founding ideas.  Among them is a luminous timepiece that reimagined time as a left‑to‑right journey across a 180‑degree arc beneath a diamond‑set sky. Today, URWERK revives this little‑known creation in a limited edition of 25 gem-set watches: the UR‑101 Diamond Sky.

This is continuation, not nostalgia. “The UR‑101 is our starting point,” says co‑founder Felix Baumgartner. “It embodies everything URWERK stands for: satellite display, time expressed as motion, and a break from traditional dials.”

A steel case engraved with a geometric constellation anchors diamonds as fixed points in a moving universe, scattering light with every motion. Artistic director Martin Frei describes the diamonds as guiding stars, arranged in a hexagonal pattern that brings balance to the dial.

A direct descendant of URWERK’s first creations in 1997, the UR‑101 Diamond Sky retains the brand’s core DNA—satellite display, crown at 12 o’clock, angular lugs—while adding a precious dimension.

Limited to 25 pieces, it is designed for collectors who see time as an idea in motion.
