The Super Freak stands apart by fundamentally rethinking how time is displayed and how a movement is constructed. Its fully integrated rotating movement serves as both the time display and the engine: the barrel turns once every 12 hours to indicate the hours, while the movement itself rotates once per hour to indicate the minutes. There is no crown — time is set via the bezel and the movement is wound through the case back. Developed in-house using advanced silicon and DIAMonSIL® escapements engineered to withstand over 155 million impacts per year, and powered by the Grinder® system delivering a three-day power reserve, the Super Freak represents the pinnacle of the Freak collection and 180 years of Ulysse Nardin’s legacy.

At the heart of the Super Freak beats the UN-252, an entirely new in-house caliber composed of 511 components, developed over four years of intensive research. It is the world’s first automatic double tourbillon — two titanium flying tourbillons inclined at 10 degrees, rotating in opposite directions on a flying carousel. The watch also introduces a seconds display to the Freak collection, made possible by a newly patented gimbal system, the world’s smallest at just 4.8 mm. Built on 35 patented inventions introduced since 2001, including 8 patents specific to this model, the Super Freak features the world’s smallest vertical differential, the patented Grinder® automatic winding system, and in-house silicon and DIAMonSIL® technology. Its seven-plane construction creates striking depth, with 97.46% of the movement in motion.
