The Freak ONE Blue Enamel in a titanium 44 mm case, paired with an integrated “ballistic” rubber strap and a titanium folding buckle. Awarded the prestigious Iconic Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2023, the Freak [ONE] stands as a testament to the Freak revolution—a watch that challenges conventions, no dial, no hands and no crown.
For the first time, the Freak [ONE] elevates its emblematic hour disc through decorative arts. Crafted in white gold and engraved with a subtle sunray pattern, the disc is hand-covered with intense blue enamel by Donzé Cadrans, Ulysse Nardin’s in-house enamelling atelier. Enamelling is one of the rarest and most demanding decorative arts preserved by Ulysse Nardin. Practiced for over 3,000 years, it produces colours of exceptional depth and permanence that retain their original character over time. The process begins with raw enamel compounds, washed and ground by hand into a fine powder before being transformed into a pigment paste. This paste is applied to the disc, then fired at around 800°C. Layer after layer, the enamel gains depth, intensity and radiance.
