The Excalibur Biretrograde Perpetual Calendar unites celestial inspiration with Roger Dubuis’ Genevan watchmaking mastery. This creation tracks earthly time while displaying the Moon’s phases, expressing the Maison’s distinctive aesthetics through an upgraded in‑house calibre.
The perpetual calendar reflects Mr. Roger Dubuis’ lifelong fascination with complex horology. Its hallmark biretrograde display features sweeping day and date indications that return to their origin at the end of each cycle. Properly set, the mechanism will remain accurate until 2100, accounting for varying month lengths and leap years.
At its heart, the new self‑winding RD850 calibre delivers a 60‑hour power reserve and comprises 435 components. A newly added month corrector allows for faster, simpler manual adjustment. An astronomical Moonphase at 6 o’clock follows the Moon’s true orbital cycle with exceptional precision, requiring adjustment only once every 122 years.
Certified by the Poinçon de Genève, the RD850 showcases 16 finishing techniques, including rare inner angle finishing on the retrograde bridges. The open‑worked dial reveals nine layers, enhanced by a new Astral Blue colourway inspired by the depths of the universe.
