The Compliquée Haute Horlogerie ladies’ collection upholds Peter Carl Fabergé’s tradition of surprise and meticulous execution with a new and spectacular time display, which won the prestigious 2015 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) – the Swiss watchmaking industry’s highest honor – in the ‘High-Mechanical’ category.

The highly original display of the collection features a fan at the heart of the watch, a movement exclusively developed for Fabergé by Agenhor Manufacture. It thus perpetuates the ingenious and freethinking spirit of Peter Carl Fabergé; the display in the Compliquée Peacock timepiece pays homage to the famous “Peacock Egg” of 1908.

The Compliquée Peacock Rose Gold Black Timepiece features a matte-black lacquer dial, hand-engraved peacock, black painted mother-of-pearl minute and hour indicators and a retrograde hand-wound movement, encased in a 38mm rose gold case, with alligator strap.

Fabergé is renowned for creating unique decorative pieces – objet d’art, timepieces and jewelry – painting with colored gemstones and delighting with the element of surprise. Fabergé’s love of the unexpected began when Peter Carl Fabergé, artist-jeweler to the Russian Court, presented the first of his legendary Imperial Eggs, the Hen Egg, in 1885. The egg opened to reveal a golden hen set with ruby eyes, concealing a gold and diamond replica of the imperial crown, complete with a tiny ruby pendant suspended on a chain. Today’s Fabergé collections celebrate Peter Carl’s love of a life in color and his legacy of inimitable bespoke pieces, crafted by peerless workmasters, each bringing a modern twist.
