THE UR100V LS CERAMIC BY URWERK WHEN TIME FLIES AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT

The UR-100V LS Ceramic by URWERK is a watch that reimagines timekeeping, using mechanics to illustrate the propagation of light through space rather than simply measuring minutes.  Its wandering hour satellite mechanism marks the journey of a photon from the Sun to the planets, transforming time into a traversal of cosmic distances.

The watch features a three-dimensional planetary display, showing the exact time sunlight takes to reach each planet in the solar system (e.g., Mercury: 3.2 min, Venus: 6 min, Earth: 8.3 min, Neptune: 4.1 hours).

The concept emphasizes that every ray of light is a memory, highlighting the delayed nature of information and the irreversible nature of time.  The philosophical aspect is reinforced: what we see from distant stars is always from the past, never the present.

The case uses a proprietary ceramic composite with glass and carbon fibers, offering enhanced durability and resistance to shock, inspired by aeronautics and medical technologies.  The white ceramic case is intentionally chosen for its optical properties, reflecting and scattering light, and symbolizing the meeting of material and energy.

The watch is powered by the UR 12.02 automatic calibre, with a Windfänger turbine for controlled winding, 48-hour power reserve, and purposeful finishing for durability and legibility.
